Navigational Guide to Wills
Although some of the the sites below offer an on-line will-making service, we suggest you have a will professionally drawn up by a lawyer or notary in your community. We have listed these sites because they provide some background about wills or discuss the technical terminology of making a will.
The cost of having a will made is far less than most people imagine. A lawyer will be pleased to give you an estimate of the cost of preparing your will. Since lawyers charge on a time-basis, you can save money by being prepared beforehand.
For example, think about who you want to name as an Executor, and have the names and addresses handy of the people and organizations you wish to remember in your will. More information on this subject is available on some of these sites.
NEED TO FIND A LAWYER WHO CAN HELP YOU WITH YOUR WILL?
Contact your provincial or state Law Society for a referral of the names and addresses of wills & estates lawyers in your region. For example, in British Columbia you can contact the Law Society of British Columbia."
