Our Coat of Arms

On September 12 ,1996 The Millennium Foundation of Canada was formally granted an official Coat of Arms by the Chief Herald of Canada, Robert Watt. In keeping with the ancient laws of heraldry, the image is unique, existing nowhere else in the world.

The colourful and rich history of heraldry is very much alive after more than eight hundred years or twenty-five generations.

Our motto, "Carpe Momentum Saeculi Novi" can be translated as "Seize the Turning Point (or Momentum) of the New Era."

The background is gold leaf, while the phoenix and wavy lines are purple. The phoenix, symbol of transformation, rises from red flames. The wavy lines symbolize the air element - vibration - of Aquarius, and can be interpreted to represent amongst other things new technologies, such as the Internet.
